Originating in Pharaonic Egypt (circa 3000 BC – 30 BC), glass manufacturing enjoys a long and prestigious history. The first glass artifact, a delicate scepter, emerged from the treasures of the 18th Dynasty Egyptian ruler, Tutankhamen. Subsequent discoveries within other tombs unearthed numerous glass bottles equal in value to the gold treasures found alongside the ancient rulers and nobles. Throughout the Fatimid period (circa 969 AD - 1169 AD) Islamic art mixed with more modern manufacturing processes, producing larger bottles and flasks of unequaled beauty and detail.
